Style After Baby

Like most moms, I have had to deal with the struggle of trying to get my body back after having my baby. Contrary to what many woman hope will happen, including myself, your body normally does not just bounce back after giving birth.
It takes time to get yourself mentally and physically back to normal and just like every other mom, I had to adjust to the body I had while working to get somewhat close to my pre-baby body. This includes learning how to dress the body I had while working to get the body I wanted.

For me this meant turning to my styling experience and knowledge to know how to dress in a way that helped me to look my best and not feel so self conscious about my new body and the extra weight.

I want to share this information I used with you. If you are a mom struggling with dressing your post baby body or if you are not a mom but just need help with dressing and feeling your best, this guide is for you. Go get your FREE Style Guide now…

At Work With Ask_Bianca: Photoshoot Day

Hello, Happy Friday! I hope its been a good week! Its been a good week for me, but its also been a busy one. So busy that I didnt get to tell you guys about the photoshoot I worked last weekend.
But no worries, I have some time today so here goes my rundown of the shoot. Checkout some behind the scenes footage, including me at work and then some of the final pics…

For anyone who has ever taken part in a photoshoot, you know it’s an all day process and it’s a lot of hurry up and wait. I also had some travel as the shoot wasn’t at home for me so my day started around 7 (or that’s when I was started my chronicles of the day to come)

P1160496There is makeup….P1160455And hair to be done…

Testing of lighting and camera setup…

Planning of looks for the models…More makeup..(touch ups between shots)

Whew! I am tired just looking at the pictures! As I told you before, shootings an all day event, I started at 7 to get to the shoot, after hair and makeup, we probably started the actual shoot around 11 and didn’t wrap up until around 330 with more looks we didn’t even get to! This is only some of the shots, there was also a fitness look…..Long day right?!? But it was worth it, great shoot and I met some great people, all good at what they do!

Now that we have seen the process, check out some of the final pics below…

My Baecation Style

I can hardly believe it is that time again but here we are! It is our anniversary weekend! Year four in the books! I always look forward to our getaways, a time for us to reconnect and be non-parents for just a little bit (I know Caden is enjoying grandparent time).

Now that you know what the vacation is for, let’s get to the good stuff…vacation style! I am such an overpacker. My husband is always shaking his head at just how much I “need” for just a few days. As I always try to tell him, you always gotta be prepared. Every woman knows if you only pack one outfit, something is bound to happen and you will need that one thing you DIDNT pack! Options is the name of the game and I always make sure I have at least two of them. 😉

So check out my pics and commentary below on my Baecation style…

For travel attire, I look for something that will be comfortable but still cute for stops along the way. I like to do layers.…it allows you to adjust for temp & climate changes. Options remember?

A little pattern play for dinner. Found a cute little restaurant called Jestines while searching for a place to eat downtown Charleston. Good food and friendly staff. Get there early, I mean it when I say cute LITTLE spot.

We decided Day two would be a good day for a late start and a relaxed, casual day. Brunch, honey wine tasting and shopping were on the menu for the day. The perfect day for relaxed boyfriends jeans and oversized chambray shirt. Sass up this casual look with a rolled cuff and wedges.

Savannah Bee Company, a place we found while walking after dinner, for a honey wine tasting (who knew you could make wine from honey?!?)

One constant this trip was the heat! After a warm day out and about, I decided to go for something appropriate for the heat. A maxi was the perfect attire for the warm Charleston days and nights. This was comfortable, easy and perfect for dinner. Check out Rarebit, a cute bar/diner with a cool atmosphere and menu including breakfast all day.

Sad to go but it is time to return to the other Carolinas and to my little one! With plans to make a few stops before hitting the road, jeggins and a sleeveless shell was the look. I am not normally a jeggings girl but these are great. Unlike some jeggings, this pair (target clearance!) has the weight and structure of real denim. They look like real jeans, minus the missing front pockets!

Just as four years blew by, so did my weekend Baecation! It was a great break and great memories were made. Hope you enjoy my trip recap via my style chronicles. Until next time…

#Ask_Bianca: How do I style a tulle skirt?

As promised, I’m back and I can’t wait to bring you tips and inspiration for this week’s style question. This week we are taking a look at the tulle skirt.

I know traditionally when you think of a tulle skirt you think little girls and ballerina shoes. Well, the tulle skirt has come a long way and it’s not just for little girls or solely for ballet class anymore. The skirt has made its way to the closets of big girls and some in new, modern form. Check out the looks below inspired by the modern tulle skirt above.  Go for a modern take or if you are bold enough, try the more traditional skirt, the inspiration below works for both!

A twist on traditional casual, pair your tulle skirt with a classic denim jacket, white tee and cute sandals.

Looking for something a little more? Take the concept of the casual look above and amp it up a little. Instead of a jean jacket, chose a dark colored cardigan and instead of a casual tee, pair with a classic white woven. For a little more interest, pair with leopard print flats.

A chambray button front shirt is a closet staple and will make for a chic, stylish look when paired with your tulle skirt. Dress up your chambray  inspired look by pairing with a t-strap heel.

So, what do you think? How did I do  my first post back? I hop you found some inspiration and learned some tips if you want to try out this look.

Can you, or should I say, would you try the tulle skirt? Let me know your thoughts and if you have or will ty this look.Until next time…
